Minister of Education and Science of RA Levon Mkrtchyan met with the delegation, headed by Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Welfare of the People’s Republic of China Mrs. Chan Ichon. Welcoming the guest, Minister stressed, that bilateral relations and cooperation with China had advanced in the past years. In that regard, he highlighted the project for construction of a school with advanced study of Chinese, expressing confidence, that it would bring the bilateral relations to a new level, contributing to the enhancement of cooperation in other sectors of education as well.
The head of the Chinese delegation noted, that vocational education enjoys wide popularity in China and is considered as a guarantee of social welfare by the state. According to the guest, the main labour force of the economic field and infrastructures consists of qualified craftsmen and specialists.
The delegation also included a representative of Shanghai Municipality, who introduced the educational system of Shanghai to the Minister, emphasizing the role of vocational education institutions in their city. The representatives of the Chinese delegation attached great importance to the International competition of specializations to be held in Shanghai in 2021.
The sides touched upon other issues of mutual interest at the meeting.
