National song and dance in Artsakh: first training of local teachers held

Starting from this academic year national song and dance – one of the most patriotic school subjects – will be introduced and taught in the 5th through 7th grades in Artsakh.
In this regard, the National Song and Dance Academy Cultural and Educational Foundation held a two-phase training for local teachers of the subject.
17 teachers from Stepanakert and Artsakh regions took part in the first phase of the trainings and learned about the niceties of the national songs and dances along with mastering new and useful skills to deliver the subject. The training program included eight songs and eight dances.
The second training phase will commence on August 26 and end on August 30.
The national song and dance subject will be rolled out to those schools in Artsakh the teachers of which will successfully complete the training program.
It should be noted that besides these trainings, on August 14-18, the National Song and Dance Academy Cultural and Educational Foundation also held supplementary trainings in Yerevan for teachers delivering the 6th-7th grade program in order to improve their quality and foster their professional development. This supplementary training program was held at the initiative of the National Song and Dance Academy Cultural and Educational Foundation – 60 teachers (25 – from Yerevan and 35 – from Armenian regions) participated in it.
