L. Mkrtchyan received ambassador of Bulgaria

Minister of Education and Science of RA Levon Mkrtchyan today received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria Maria Pavlova Tzotzorkova-Kaymaktchieva.
Congratulating the newly-appointed Ambassador on the commencement of diplomatic mission in our country, the Minister expressed assurance that relations with Bulgaria in the education sector will raise to a new level and in this regard he stressed the implementation of practical steps towards fostering cooperation.
During a meeting a reference wad made to the program “Cooperation between The Government of the Republic of Armenia and the Government of the Republic of Bulgaria in the education and science sectors in 2016-2020”. It was noted that it is envisaged to stimulate the cooperation among higher education institutions, particularly in the exchange program of scholarships, so as to implement joint educational programs. According to the interlocutors, the implementation of the new program will give a new impetus to the enhancement and development of the Armenian-Bulgarian educational cooperation.
Minister L. Mkrtchyan informed that Armenia had joined Horizon 2020, EU’s research and innovation program and in this regard, he proposed to cooperate actively in the scientific sector too with emphasis on natural sciences. 
The Ambassador thanked for the cooperation in the education sector and underlined the significance of signing new program for cooperation, expressing hope, that it will open new prospects for development between the two countries in the education sector. The parties discussed a number of current issues during the meeting.
