The Ministry of Education and Science of Armenia and CITY College, which is the International Faculty of the University of Sheffield, signed a memorandum of understanding on Friday, officially launching the Executive MBA program of the University in Armenia.
Minister Levon Mkrtchyan welcomed the University of Sheffield to Armenia and stressed, that Armenian people had always valued human resources and education, as for a nation that had suffered Genocide and had lost the state, the only stable capital remained education.
CITY College Principal Yannis Ververidis, on his part, expressed hope that the access of the University of Sheffield to Armenia will contribute to the development of business education in the country. He stressed that their students in Yerevan will receive education that meets European standards.
According to the memorandum, the City College starting from 2016 academic year will grant scholarships for the implementation of the Executive MBA program in Yerevan. A person who receives scholarship is a full-pledged student of the University of Sheffield, who will attend the courses organized in Yerevan, as well as will participate in one-week training courses at the University of Sheffield in UK and in Thessaloniki, Greece.
All the candidates of the program will receive UK Master of Business Administration (MBA) of the University of Sheffield.
Britain's Sheffield University is among world's top 100 universities. Executive MBA program is currently being implemented in Thessaloniki, Belgrade, Bucharest, Kiev and Sofia.
