Arayik Harutyunyan receives newly appointed Ambassador of Russia to Armenia Sergey Kopirkin

ArayikHarutyunyan, RA Minister of Education and Science,received newly appointed Ambassador of Russia to Armenia Sergey Kopirkin. Congratulating the Ambassador on his appointment, ArayikHarutyunyan expressed hope that during his mission Sergey Kopirkin will contribute to the deepening and expansion of the strategic relations in the field of education and science. The Minister of Education and Science mentioned that the new government of Armenia calls special attention to educationand within that context underlined that there are certain directions and programs of cooperation at different levels of education.

The Ambassador of Russia thanked for such reception and assured that he would make every effort not only to provide friendly relations between Armenia and Russia, to ensurethe continuity of the strategic cooperation in the sphere of education and science but also to develop and deepen them.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the issue of teaching the Russian language. The Minister of Education and Science noted that the increase in the effectiveness of foreign language teaching is one of the educational priorities of Armenia, emphasizing that the implemented systemic reforms will promote the quality of all subjects taught in schools.

During the meeting, other issues related to the implementation of joint programs in the fields of middle professional education, higher education, and science were also discussed.
