The preparatory training for the “Unit 1991” Program was launched at the Foundation for Armenian Science and Technology today. The program envisages the creation of a new special unit within the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia, as a result of which it will be possible to implement scientific research projects and analyses aimed at solving medium and long-term issues. 400 young people aged 17-23 have applied to participate in the Foundation's six-month training in the fields of data science and artificial intelligence. After the stages of testing and interviewing, 46 of them will participate in free training.
The spouse of the RA Prime Minister Anna Hakobyan, the RA Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Arevik Anapiosyan, representatives from the RA Ministry of Defense, and “HiTec” Cyber Security Center, participated in the event dedicated to the launching ceremony.
It should be noted that the aim of the training is to provide pre-conscripts with additional knowledge in the fields of data science and artificial intelligence, which will enable them to be more experienced for the service at the “Unit 1991”.
One of the goals of the “Unit 1991” is to ensure continuing education, comprehensive development, and professional skills for military personnel.
While serving in the “Unit 1991”, the servicemen will gain basic and practical knowledge and skills that will allow them to continue to work in the respective units of the RA Ministry of Defense, continuing to apply and develop their knowledge, find a job in leading hi-tech companies and participate in laboratory research
