Minister of Education and Science of Armenia, Levon Mkrtchyan, Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan and President of Kaspersky Lab, Yevgeny Kaspesky signed a trilateral Memorandum on Information security cooperation and Internet Safety for children.
RA Minister expressed gratitude to his partners and noted, that the cooperation would enable to include information security component in the education system by e-learning format, highlighting its effectiveness in children’s education and in raising parents’ awareness in this field. For this purpose, it is planned to include a new subject in syllabus and to organize trainings for teachers within this project.
A working meeting was preceded by the signing ceremony, during which the events schedule of the program and other organizational issues were discussed. Memorandum is based on the tendency of modern technologies and challenges derived from that, protection of children’s rights in the Internet, compliance with safety rules during the use of modern information technologies which are an essential condition for ensuring children's intellectual, mental and physical development.
The memorandum aims to enhance child protection and to enhance e-safety education of children and parents. It will also provide to establish a framework in order to promote effective cooperation in the spheres of mutual interest between the parties.
